Protecting data has always been our highest priority. However, with the introduction of GDPR in 2018, more and more businesses are realising that they need to tighten up their data security procedures. These procedures now include disposal of computers.
For when simply erasing data just isn’t enough. PC Net provide a dedicated hard drive shredding service, to ensure sensitive data is unrecoverable by any third party.
The part of the computer which stores data is the hard drive. The hard drive can be taken out of the PC and discarded separately. At PC Net, we send all hard drives to be shredded (in the same way you would shred paper with confidential data on it) and then provide a certificate of destruction to the customer. They can then be confident that none of the data that was stored on the hard drive can ever be accessed and sold on. The underground market for personal details is very healthy, and destroying a hard drive is the only completely safe way to ensure these details are erased.
