Windows 10 – Wait a Little Longer!

On
July 29th Microsoft releases Windows 10 and users will begin upgrading
from Windows 7 and 8. You might like to be one of them. We recommend you
wait just a little longer – here’s why.

Release Glitches

We’ve
learned from experience two things inevitably happen when a new
Operating System comes out. We’d like to help you avoid them.

  1. Hundreds
of software programmes run everyday on the Windows Operating Systems
(7, 8 and 10) installed on our personal and work computers. We are not
even aware of many of these programmes – but they do vital jobs from
printing and scanning to running your accounts and CRM systems. Most of
these will not have been upgraded to Windows 10 on 29th July and so
won’t work. That could be disastrous for your business.
  2. Every
new Operating System has bugs which don’t become apparent until people
use the new system for real. Microsoft will start to issue patches for
these bugs about a month after the release date.

Our Advice

Stick
with your current system for the present and let others deal with the
inevitable IT problems that will arise. Forewarned, you can plan your
upgrade in the way that works best for you, with the minimum of downtime
and without IT headaches.

We’ll Keep You Posted

We
will let you know when it’s time to upgrade and how to do it safely. In
the meantime, we recommend you don’t click on that upgrade button!
