The boss of a Shropshire IT support services company is urging firms in the county to consider applying for a broadband grant worth £25,000 to help their business.
The Business Broadband Grant is available to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in Shropshire and is aimed at accessing high-speed broadband connectivity.
Our MD, Katy Jones, says the grant is worth considering because the benefits an efficient broadband service brought to any business was considerable.
“We are seeing the problems of poor broadband highlighted on an almost daily basis and the effect it has on firms and how they carry out their day-to-day business can be quite devastating,
“Shropshire has had significant issues with poor broadband service in some areas and, indeed, no service at all in others.
“It is vitally important we have a service that is fit for purpose so businesses across the county can benefit.
“I would like to raise awareness of this broadband grant, let people know what it is and how they can go about claiming it. It really could be to their advantage to get involved and apply.”
The Marches & Gloucestershire Business Broadband Grant has been developed by Connecting Shropshire in partnership with Fastershire & Support Telford and been partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Businesses can claim a £25,000 grant to access high-speed broadband, so it’s well worth the effort!
Businesses must be based in Shropshire, be a small and medium-sized enterprise and show an economic case for high-speed broadband connectivity.
Companies will be considered for the grant if they are beyond the scope of broadband roll-out plans, or if your business is labelled as ‘under review’ or ‘no planned NGA coverage.
Anyone interested in applying should register via the the Marches & Gloucestershire Business Broadband Grant portal, with registration taking up to five days.
