WEEE: Computer & Electrical Waste Recycling

weee_logoThe EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) became law in the UK in January 2007 as part of the Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment Regulations 2006.

The WEEE Directive aims to reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment being produced and to encourage everyone to reuse, recycle and recover waste rather than have it go into landfill.

The WEEE Directive also aims to improve the environmental performance of businesses that manufacture, supply, use, recycle and recover electrical and electronic equipment.

So, if you are a business with electrical or electronic equipment to dispose of, or if you sell electrical or electronic equipment then you have a 'Duty of Care' under the law.  Essentially, this means that you must make sure that your WEEE products are are separated from your other waste and are collected and recycled by a licensed organisation that complies with UK waste laws.

PC Net Solutions are a licenced organisation. We can collect and dispose of your Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and provide a Consignment Note. This is your proof that the waste has been disposed of safely and legally.
